What We Do

The Business Alliance for a Healthy California works throughout the state of California to mobilize the business sector to support a Medicare-for-all type health system.  We believe businesses and business leaders need to be educated about the business benefits of such a system and engage in a variety of educational and organizing programs, and advocate for policies and legislation that would help achieve our vision and mission.

The Alliance develop resources and research geared to business constituencies; educate the business community through events, webinars, the press, social media, public relations; and cultivate relationships with leading policy institutions.

Our resources are available to all. 

We are in process of developing a network of regional chapters, with volunteers on the ground who promote our mission, carry the message, and educate and organize local businesses.

With assistance from Healthy California Coalition members, we are building a social movement by tapping into grassroots enthusiasm for systematic outreach to small businesses on an unprecedented attempted scale.

Our collaborative relationships with business associations and neighborhood merchant groups throughout California help bring these efforts to scale.

We are currently prioritizing outreach to small businesses, but are in dialog with leaders of large employers on the benefits of Medicare-for-all, and seek commitments from well-known business leaders.

Our goal is to establish the Alliance as the voice of business within the Healthy California Coalition and among other organizations that share our mission.

We are members of the Steering Committee of the Healthy California Coalition, provide input into political strategy and legislative policy, mobilize business leaders to support specific, appropriate legislation at critical junctures in the legislative process.

We also liaise with the Business Leaders Transforming Healthcare network to advocate for national policy change.
